Do you think being a rider-manager made you a better or worse manager overall? I’m sure it probably impacted your riding but did it also affect your managing?
Great question. I think overall it made me a much better manager, but it definitely clouded some judgements. There were times when, as a rider, I knew exactly what a rider would want/need so I could plan accordingly. Equally, being a rider-manager meant that I sometimes struggled to make the hard decisions, especially given the boys were my close friends.
